What you need:
- Mackerel medium to big: 3
- Onions: 1 big
- Fresh coconut milk: 200 ml
- The Women of Goem Gomantak Fish masala: 2-3 tbsps
- Tamarind: 1-2 pieces. You can use any kind like Kokum or Malabar tamarind.
- Curry leaves for garnish
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil (coconut oil is traditional, but you can use any oil)

Season mackerel with salt and lime juice.

Keep ready 1 cup of coconut milk.

Heat 3-4 tbsps of oil in a cooking vessel

Add a tsp of mustard seeds.

When the mustard seeds sputter, add the onions.

Saute well.

When the onion softens, Add a tsp of salt.

Fry until they turn golden brown

Add 2-3 tbsps the Gomantak Fish masala.

Fry under low flame

Add some water so that the masala does not burn.

Fry the masala while stirring continuously

Fry until the oil separates.

Add the tamarind.

Add some curry leaves

Add the coconut milk.

Mix well so that no lumps form.

Bring to boil.

Now add the mackerel

Mix with the gravy.

Cover the pot

Cook for 2-3 minutes

Add 2-3 tbsps of thick coconut milk.

Add some more curry leaves.

The mackerel curry is ready.
