Traditionally known as Shagoti in Konkani language, this sophisticated curry is supposed to have originated in Harmal village, in the Pedne taluka of Goa – a region that borders Maharashtra state in the north. There are many variations of Xacuti all across Goa, with their own individual characteristics, ours is an unique ancient home recipe rich in flavour, aroma and texture special to the heart of North Goa. Xacuti is traditionally used with chicken, mutton, or lamb, but it’s so versatile that it compliments a range of fish, meats and even vegetables.
